In honor of my 35th birthday yesterday I decided to think up 35 things about myself that people may or may not know…it is not as easy as I thought it would be to come up with 35 random things about yourself.
Well, there you have it…35 random things about me.
1.2 pounds. Not that great. But I was really bad on Saturday and Sunday. Tori had swimming all last week so I only got in one good workout. Oh well, I guess losing 1.2 pounds is better than gaining 1.2 pounds right?
Well it has been exactly one week since I have begun my new healthy eating lifestyle. It wasn’t as bad as I thought. Sure I really wanted a bacon cheeseburger with fries but I made it through. I even had some pizza on Saturday night and a great muffaletta style sandwich last night that actually fit into my caloric intake for the day! This healthy eating thing isn’t so bad after all…(ask me again in a few weeks and see if I still feel the same!).
I hadn’t weighed myself since last Monday and so I was very anxious to see if all my hard work was paying off. I stepped on the scale and I am down 2 pounds exactly. In my head I was thinking like 15 but I guess 2 will do…hahaha.
So if I keep this up I should be down the 20 pounds in about 10-12 weeks! That is good motivation for me!
Well I, the fat lady, have sung and the party is officially over. Starting yesterday, July 9, 2007, I have begun what I call my “healthy eating” campaign. Not going so far as to call it a “diet” since I know from experience that the word diet does not fit in my vocabulary. I am going to try to eat healthier, more fruits and veggies, and less fried and fast food. It is really sad that my kids love fruit and eat it while I am right next to them eating cookies!
I realized the other day that I really need to lose some weight. I have been eating like crazy and have gained a few pounds to show for all that wonderful food. I had been doing ok and had actually lost a few pounds and got back into some jeans I hadn’t been able to wear for a long time. Well they don’t fit again and neither do the super cute jeans I got a few months back. I haven’t been able to wear them yet so that is my first goal - to fit into those jeans. I won’t say what I weigh (hello, I am a woman - haha) but suffice it to say it won’t hurt me to lose up to 20 pounds!
Yesterday I set up my account at www.fitday.com and started tracking what I ate and my goals and all kinds of neat stuff. It is a great site. I also bought a exercise bike since I also know from experience that this weather does not make me want to jump up and go walking at 5 PM. I thought the best way for me to get some exercise is in the A/C watching TV - sounds great to me!
And to make it easier, my dear darling husband is doing it as well. He brought in his bike and set it up on the trainer and we rode side by side…it was fun!
Day 1 - I ate within my caloric allowance and did 30 minutes on the bike - I’m on my way!
