Warning - this is a rant!
I have found that drivers in Dallas are the rudest and worst I have encountered. I thought San Antonio had some bad drivers but Dallas wins in every category!
1. Just because your car is bigger or more expensive than mine does not give you the right to cut me off!
2. If you must talk on your phone while driving (I will admit I do talk while driving but ALWAYS use my headset - I’m just not coordinated enough do drive and talk if not using it) please pay attention to what is going on!
3. Please drive the speed limit! I can’t stand to be stuck behind someone going 10 miles under the speed limit. Driving too slow causes more problems than speeding!! Most of the time people driving too slow are on the phone - see #2 for clarification!
4. Use your blinkers!!!! They come on the car for a reason!
5. If you see the lane you are in is closing in a few hundred feet and see the 400 signs they have telling you so, you are not entitled to cut in front of all the cars that paid attention and got over.
6. And the thing I hate the absolute most is if I do let you in when you have not been paying attention, PLEASE, PLEASE at the very least say thank you!!!
A simple thank you can go a long way!
End Rant.
I can’t believe the luck I had today!
We went to eat lunch with Ricky’s parents and Isabel didn’t finish her milk so I brought it with us. I put the cup in a cup holder in the car and headed home. When we got to the house I went to get the stuff out of the cup holders and realized there was a hole in the cup and it leaked milk all over my camera and bluetooth headset!!!! They had been soaking in the milk for about 20 minutes. ARGHHHHHHH!!!
I am crossing my fingers that once they dry out they will work again. I have seen signs of life from the headset but not much from the camera yet. I am really wanting the pictures that were on the camera but we don’t have a memory reader to find out.
So here I sit, crying over spilled milk!
Zaida and I took the kids to the new fun pool in Carrollton yesterday. It was crowded but not too crowded that you didn’t want to be there. (Notice this is filed under rant before reading further
)
I had 2 BIG issues:
1. WATCH YOUR CHILDREN!!!! There was a little girl who kept climbing up one of the slides so the other kids could not slide down. The life guards told her at least 7 different times over about a 30 minute span to stop climbing up the slides. Not once did I see a parent any where near the little girl either watching her or telling her to stop. She was younger than Isabel. I just don’t understand how parents can be so irresponsible. Not so much for not stopping her from doing it but for not watching thier children in the water! I freak out when Isabel is out of my sight for even a few seconds in the water much less 30 minutes. So maybe the parent was watching - why not tell your child to stop climbing up the slide?
2. TEACH YOUR CHILDREN SOME MANNERS! I know it is not easy to teach manners to a young child and they will not get it right all the time. We were in line at the larger slide patiently waiting our turn. I was holding Tori and standing with Isabel and Bella. SEVEN kids cut in front of us within about 2 minutes. I even said hey guys, the line is back there and only 1 of them moved. The others just looked at me and then turned around. I can understand if the kids were 3 or so but these were older kids. And then the girls wanted to go again and I told them make sure you wait in line and wait for your turn. This mom was standing next to us and said “ya, my son just keeps walking straight up to the front and doesn’t wait”. But did she stop him from doing it? NOOOOOOOOOO!!! He kept on doing it over and over. And she didn’t care! I just don’t get it!!!
Ok, I got it out!! End of rant.
Happy Monday!
Sometimes I just don’t know what to think anymore. You are told to always use sunscreen on your children (and yourself) and since we are in the beginning of the West Nile Virus season you are told to use bug spray. The bug spray that is most effective against the mosquitos that carry West Nile is DEET. And then I read this story….

Nice huh?
